I guess that I should mention that I was so desperate for help that I was actually diagnosed with clinical depression. The result, paying $200 an hour for therapy and $1000 a month for medication. None of which I thought really made a difference at the end.
There are indeed chemical and biological effects that happen in our bodies when we are depressed, but despite what the “science” tells us, my feeling is that those chemical and biological effects are the symptom of depression rather than the actual cause.
