I think it’s one thing for the conversation to come up organically at some point early on, but I would never introduce myself to someone and go straight into this conversation.

As far as your second point, the way that I experienced society is that there is still a social premium placed on those that are able to and prefer to drink and get drunk often. But I have noticed that self-selection has gone a long way in the more personal issue for myself.
