I’m not sure I fully understand the point you’re getting at here, but the point that I’m trying to make is not that beauty is better than ability or the other way around. In fact, the point that I’m trying to make is that nothing is better than anything else. There are too many complicated situations and environments in life for things to be boiled down to simple statements like that.

The point that I’m actually trying to make is that American culture, especially the more popular ideas that seem to thrive in mass media, tends to forget all the nuances. American society ignores the fact that there are countless, diverse societies and thoughts outside of what is just portrayed back at home.
